Business Intelligence Intern
So after you apply, there's a recruiter screen, then maybe a technical test if they need it. Then the hiring manager interviews you about your skills and stuff. For the final stage, it's usually a panel with team members and bosses to check if you fit technically and with the company culture. After that, they do reference and background checks before making an offer, and you can negotiate. Then comes onboarding.
- Can you tell me about a project you're currently involved in?
Account Executive
There were three interviews. It began with a call from an internal recruiter where they asked a lot about my experience. The second and third interviews were with the sales manager and the vp of HR, and they asked a lot of soft skill questions, as well as how I approach finding new customers.
- Can you list the products you've sold and the industries you sold them in?
- Tell me about your past experience.
- What's your strategy for hunting down new customers?
Sales Representative
I applied online and got a quick response from HR the next day. They set up a phone interview with HR, which went fine, although I dodged a question about salary expectations. After that, I had an interview with the manager. It was super short, like 20 minutes, and he seemed uninterested from the start, not asking much. It felt like a waste of time because he immediately passed me off to someone who was actually doing the job I applied for. That person then did a full hour-long interview with me. I never heard back from GE Lighting after that, not even after emailing HR for an update. It's been 5 months with no news.
- What have you learned from your past jobs?
- Tell me about how you learn from your errors.
- Which job role did you like the best?
Software Engineer
I had a negative experience because they promised to follow up regardless of the outcome, but they never did. It would have been good to at least get some feedback.
- Tell me about a time you improved a process.
