It was a bad experience. They make you do an assessment (predictive index) but don't seem to care about the results even if they're accurate. They gave me false hope, even saying they'd offer me a job, but it was way below my expected salary. Then, I had to talk to someone who seemed very defensive and judgmental, and it ruined everything. I'm not interested anymore.

I was reached out to by an HR Recruiter from GCG Financial via LinkedIn. After some email exchanges, I had a phone interview with the HR Recruiter. They were quite friendly and happy to answer my questions. Next, I was asked to complete a personality test, which is pretty standard for this type of role. Once that was done, I met with the department manager for an interview. It was a very relaxed conversation, and I felt really at ease with the manager. She was upfront about the job and what was expected. I felt good about it afterward, though I wasn't sure if I'd get an offer. About a month later, the HR Recruiter called with a job offer. Before I started, I was invited to lunch with my new Manager and the HR Director. My Manager and future colleagues also sent a welcome card with a gift before my start date. On my first day, there was a welcome basket waiting for me with lots of goodies. Everyone here is so kind and supportive, it really feels like a team. I'm so glad I decided to join GCG Financial.

We started with some getting-to-know-you chat about me and my academic background. It was a really comfortable vibe. Then we got into the details about the job and the company. I had a bunch of questions about the role and the firm, and she walked me through the 4.5-year training program. It seems like a great company and a cool opportunity. Next steps involve me taking an assessment to see how well I'd align with the senior advisor I'd be working under.

It was a 4 week process. The first interview was with the Director of Recruiting in the Wealth Management Division. Then, I had a second meet with other advisors and specialists. The third meeting was with the training team. Lastly, the fourth meeting was with the President of Wealth Management. Everyone was very friendly and inviting, strong culture and employees. I was very impressed by their 5 year retention of new advisors is 67%.
