First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GC America.
Analyst
The first two out of three interviews were good experiences. But then during the 3rd interview, I started noticing some issues. It felt like a male-dominated environment and it was very disorganized. They ghosted me, and then after I followed up several times, I got an offer 4 weeks later. The HR person also pushed me to quit my current job that same day. I would definitely avoid this place; you'd be lucky to escape such a toxic workplace.
- Can you describe how you manage interactions with challenging coworkers?
Product Manager
The interview was scheduled for 30 minutes, but we connected well and ended up talking for over an hour. I was initially applying for a Product Analyst role and felt I was overqualified, but I expressed my interest in the more challenging Product Manager position. The interviewer asked me to choose which role I preferred and explain my reasoning.
- What are your methods for measuring success?
Quality Engineer
I was contacted by a recruiter and then had a face-to-face interview. The manager talked about the role and the work environment. It seemed like there were a lot of issues between the corporate Japanese team and the local quality team in how they worked together. It didn't feel like a collaborative organization that was aligned on their approach or strategy for helping the business fix their operations and problems. After the interview, I let the recruiter know I was talking to other companies and this role wasn't the right fit for me.
- Can you tell me about your experience with ISO-9001 auditing?
- What do you know about CAPA and how to manage them?
- How would you handle closing out backlog CAPA items in your systems?
Quality Assurance Engineer
It was a 30-minute interview with the director of QA and another 30-minute interview with the department supervisor. They asked about my QA experience and if I'd used software like SAP for product releases. It was pretty straightforward and they were very friendly.
- Are you familiar with GDP?
- Can you describe your experience in Quality Assurance?
- Have you worked with software like SAP for product releases?
