First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GBQ Partners.
Assurance Staff
Got an email right after applying. First, had a HR interview on Teams, which was pretty basic, covering myself, the job, the firm, and expectations. I got to ask questions too. Then, I interviewed with 3 audit senior managers and partners, about 30 minutes each. All the chats felt very conversational, and no questions were difficult or unexpected.
- Can you share an instance where you had to juggle competing priorities and explain your approach?
Data Entry Clerk
I got a text late at night around 9:46 pm saying my resume was approved and I needed to get an app called Telegram to contact the HR manager. I downloaded the app and messaged them, and they responded, with the interview lasting until 11:37 pm. During the interview, they went over my daily tasks and said I'd get a check to buy necessary equipment from their vendor. They mentioned I'd have a supervisor for training but I'd report to them Monday-Friday at 8 am for duties. I asked if they were my supervisor since I'd be reporting to them all week, and they said no. I texted them Monday at 7:59 am and didn't get a response until 8:10 am, and we only discussed the check, even though they said earlier I wouldn't get it until after the interview. I checked the company website, and the job I'm being considered for isn't listed. I plan to contact them again tomorrow to figure things out.
- Have you worked remotely or online previously?
- What is your daily time commitment for this role?
- Could you explain what 'Customer satisfaction' means to you?
Staff Accountant
I applied through the university career services website and got an on-campus interview. It wasn't directly with GBQ, but with an external company. The interviewer explained what GBQ is, what they expect, and what they look for in candidates. It felt more like an interrogation than an interview for an entry-level role, not very comfortable.
- Can you describe a difficult situation you faced and what you would do differently in hindsight?
Rotation Staff
I applied through college recruitment. The first round was on campus, then within a day I got an invite for a second round, an all day interview at their office. They really give you the whole day to get to know the firm and they get to know you. It's mostly a mix of behavioral and your normal interview questions.
- Describe a situation where you had to adapt and explain how you managed it.
