This interview experience was awful. The interviewer was two hours late, which was a waste of my time. They only mentioned at the end that the role I was interviewing for didn't even exist. It was completely unprofessional and really frustrating for candidates.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

I applied through my university career center. The first round was an on-campus interview with 2 senior/director level consultants, 30 minutes each. They asked general behavioral questions, why Gartner, and a couple of Fermi estimation questions. The second round was an invitation to their offices to interview with 3 managing partners (MP) for 1 hour each. Then, I had a 30-minute case study presentation in front of 6-10 consultants & MPs who questioned my logic, numbers, and thought process, simulating a real client. They gave me the case study 1 week before the interview, which was tough for those working full-time and attending night classes. It required very thorough research. The whole process was smooth. Consultants were professional and friendly. The recruiter was responsive and helpful.

This was the worst interview process I've experienced. The HR team, mostly based in the US, had poor communication with the Canadian side. I told them I had another offer with a deadline. The HR Manager confirmed over the phone, but after the Superday, there was silence and no email replies. I finally got a rejection call after my deadline. The Superday was supposed to take 4-5 hours but ended up being 10-15 hours of research. Two weeks later, I received a second rejection call because the recruiter forgot our previous conversation, which was embarrassing for them but not apologetic. It shows how little they value candidates and how badly the HR team operates. This experience ruined my perception of Gartner, and I'll never interview with them again. I'm not angry, just let down by the applicant experience. Other firms treat you better.

  • For the Superday case, assist a municipality in selecting a social service program, conduct market sizing, and decide on a CSaaS provider.
