First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gardner-White.
Sales Associate
It was a quick interview, but the store manager wasn't informed about it. So when I got to the store, they were confused and trying to find someone to interview me.
- Why did you decide to apply for this position?
Customer Service Representative
I applied online and got a call the next day to schedule an interview. If you apply online, you'll need to show up early to fill out a paper application. Bring your resume to help with that. Also, make sure you know all the addresses you've lived at for the last 10 years and have references ready. I interviewed with the office manager, the store manager, and then someone from corporate. The first two chats were on the sales floor at the dining tables, and the last one was in the store manager's office. After that, I waited two days and got an email from HR to do a drug test.
- What are your long-term career aspirations with Gardner-White?
- Can you outline your communication abilities and explain how Gardner-White would gain from them?
- Recount a challenging situation you faced. Describe your approach and the final result.
Sales Consultant
Once you get to the business, you will be asked to complete a formal application. It's recommended to bring a copy of your resume for this, if you haven't already submitted one. Then, you'll meet with the interviewer, and they'll talk to you about the positions they're looking to fill and why. They mentioned they had a few other people to interview and I should expect a call within the next week.
- Can you tell me about your attendance record?
- Have you ever had issues with punctuality?
Web Developer
After applying, I was sent 5 video questions that were technical but not too hard. Then, I had an in-person interview with the manager and two other devs. It was pretty casual, covering a get-to-know-you part, a website audit, and a coding challenge. The coding part felt like a group LeetCode session with two questions, one easy and one easy-plus/medium. Everyone was really nice.
