First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gardner Denver.
Office Coordinator
I met with two managers and the previous office coordinator in a conference room. The interview went for about an hour. The dress code was pretty casual - jeans and button-downs/polos for the managers, and the previous coordinator was the sharpest dressed. They kept things pretty laid-back, cracking jokes to see if I'd get offended, which I didn't.
- What are your 5-year career goals?
Design Engineer
I had a few chats with the HR recruiter on the phone, they were really nice. Then I went to Quincy, IL for an in-person interview. There, I met with 6 people who asked me about myself and my qualifications, which seemed pretty standard. It was a bit odd though, my potential direct boss was out of town so I didn't get to interview with them.
- Can you describe your qualifications?
- How do you collaborate within a team environment?
- What would you consider to be a weakness of yours?
Manufacturing Engineer
I was first called for an interview after Thanksgiving, and then came back before Christmas for a second interview and a facility tour. The second interview was a conference call with upper management and some mid-level managers. I got the offer and accepted it, giving my three weeks' notice before starting in mid-January.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Engineering Intern
I heard about this role through my university's resume outreach, so I applied and then they set up an interview for me.
- Tell me about hydrofracing since we make pumps for it.
- How would you describe your experience in a similar role?
- Can you share an example of a difficult situation you encountered and how you handled it?
