First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GannettLocal.
Senior Product Marketing Manager
First I had a phone call with a recruiter. Then, I went for an on-site interview with one person. After that, there were three more people I met with on-site. The last interview was on-site with the hiring manager.
- Could you please provide a summary of how you would manage the launch process for a new product?
- Could you please provide a summary of how you would manage the launch process for an existing product?
- I was asked to prepare a sales summary sheet for one of the products/services they sell.
Sales Associate
GannettLocal seems like a cool place to work with a young culture and good job security because it's backed by Gannett Media. The interview was pretty standard. I drove to Scottsdale, waited in the lobby, and then had my interview. The interviewer was young and nice, and talked about upward potential. He asked behavioral questions, so be ready with answers. Then, I waited and was taken to his boss's office. She asked similar questions plus some new ones and asked if I had any questions. Then they walked me out. They really care about finding people who fit their culture and have a 'work hard, play hard' mentality. Show you're a good salesperson and have a fun personality.
- Could you share your personal mission statement?
Digital Account Manager
Got contacted by a recruiter. We had a good talk about the job and the pay. Then I had to do some online tests. A few days later, I got called in for an interview. I met with two managers and a sales coach. The recruiter called me back the next day to see how I thought the interviews went and asked for my feedback. After that, they had me come in again for a final interview with the Director of Sales.
- Can you share something about yourself that isn't on your resume?
Clerical
We started with a phone interview, then there were 2 or 3 more rounds of interviews.
- Usually interviews are canned questions with relatively simple answers unless you are a moron who confesses to going postal in a difficult situation.
