So I had this initial task with 5 questions, they got harder and weren't even about Unity, which was weird. It was a pretty big task, and honestly, a lot of it you could just find on Stack Overflow. They liked that I used Unity for it, calling it 'visual'. But then they hit me with typical optimization questions like 'why didn't you use a HashSet?', even though the task didn't ask for optimization and was already big enough to solve without copy-pasting. Most questions were easily Googleable. Anyway, it didn't feel like it went super well, but I still got to the next stage with the lead. He was really positive about me and the interview was chill. He basically said they'd offer me something next week, mentioning my salary expectation of 70k euro, which was above their top Unity dev's 60k. After more than a week, they got back saying I was too junior, which felt like BS because they'd already promised an offer. I think it was a budget thing they were too proud to admit. Super unprofessional, and the tech interview was kinda hostile with one interviewer's English being really bad.

Coding Technical Other

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! This whole thing is a joke and disrespectful. They give you a huge UNPAID coding challenge where you have to design and write optimized functions, like tree-search, and an architecture for a small system (e.g., an elevator). You also need to provide unit tests. After two weeks of me emailing them, they just said 'Lack of documentation & comments.' They didn't even comment on my code or the architecture I designed, just the docs... The tasks themselves are massive and unpaid. It's a bad joke, not a real hiring process. Seriously, avoid this company.

Behavioral Other

Application was easy and fast. The interview had general questions about video games, where you see yourself in 3 years, and how you handle stress. The vibe was awkward because the manager didn't make eye contact. When I stated my salary expectations, they laughed and said I'd never get that offer for the role, while HR awkwardly laughed to ease the tension. The salary offer was firm, no negotiation possible, and I've since learned better offers exist.

Behavioral Technical

This was one of the smoothest interview processes I've ever gone through, and the team was incredibly professional throughout. I had two interviews in total. The first was with a Sr Recruiter named Mara and Recruiter Florian, who were both friendly, supportive, and gave me lots of information. Then I spoke with the head of HR, Ulrike. Both discussions lasted about an hour and felt more like casual chats with colleagues than formal interviews. About 8 days after the first interview, I got an offer with a great benefits package and a salary slightly higher than I asked for. I had to decline for personal reasons, but it was a very positive experience overall with the HR team, and I'll definitely keep an eye on their careers page.
