First, I had a recruiter screen, then an interview with the hiring manager. After that, there was an online assessment with a simple task. The final interview was supposed to be a code review and tech panel, but after waiting a week to schedule it, they cancelled it. It was a really frustrating experience.

It was a great interview experience and I'm so happy to have joined the team! The interview involved a panel with behavioral questions, a take-home coding assignment that was then edited live, and a code architecture discussion. The live coding part was about adding search functionality to the take-home project. The culture here is amazing.

The interview process was really clear and straightforward. Started with an intro call from the recruiter, then a chat with the Engineering Manager about my background and past work. After that, it was on to the final stage, which had three interviews: one 45-minute session and two hour-long ones. Before the interviews, I had to complete a sample project to discuss. There was a 'pairing' session that felt more like live coding with someone watching and giving you GitHub issues to solve. They kept interrupting me, even mid-sentence, and rushed me through everything without letting me dive deep into my knowledge. The questions were super misleading because there was a very specific answer they were looking for. In one instance, while I was starting to implement a solution and explaining my thought process, the interviewer cut me off mid-sentence and told me to check the framework docs. I know I could use the framework, but the task was to implement it. It was just wild. Honestly, one of the most awkward interviews I've experienced. I felt unheard, disrespected, inadequate, and confused. If hiring managers are reading this, you're likely missing out on a lot of great talent because of this one interviewer. I might not be a coding superstar who can recall data structures instantly, but I'm a skilled programmer. I did well in two out of the three final interviews, and it's disheartening that one interviewer's performance overshadows that. Please, give candidates a real chance to show what they can do, instead of holding them back with very specific, single-answer questions.
