The interview consisted of a lot of rounds, but they were very communicative of what was expected from you. It was a bit difficult to schedule while currently having a different job, as they weren’t flexible to go after work hours.

Lauren, a really great recruiter, helped me out loads and made sure I was ready for each interview round at GameChanger. We had four rounds in total. First, a recruiter screen. Then, an interview with the Hiring Manager. After that, I had a portfolio review with two designers. Finally, the last round had some interviews, including an app review with another designer.

I went through two rounds of interviews. The first was a general HR call, and the second was with the Design Manager, who used to be a designer but has been in middle management for over 8 years. This was the first time I was told to describe rather than demonstrate. It felt like they were really committed to their traditional methods. After these initial two interviews, they kept me waiting for three weeks with emails that seemed to be delaying things, and then sent a standard rejection. If they knew they weren't interested, they should have just said so upfront instead of calling me and making me think they were still considering me.

  • Can you describe a challenging design process you went through, rather than just showing it?
  • Tell me about some of the usual questions.
