It started with two 30-minute phone screenings. These involved brain teasers, market sizing questions, a general run-through of my resume, and a discussion about why I want to work for Galt. The interviewers were really nice and supportive, but if you're not used to consultant interviews, it can be surprising. Then, there was a full day of in-person interviews with 3 people. One was a behavioral/fit interview, another was a case study, and the last was a general interview about my experience and interest in consulting at Galt. There were 3 other people interviewing that day too. Galt really cares about "Fit". If they don't think you'd be a good fit for the company, you won't get an offer, no matter your experience. Since it's a small company, they want to make sure everyone hired fits the Galt culture, which is very non-hierarchical. All in all, it was a great experience.

- The case study involved reviewing a 12-page packet about a company and its competitors for about 10-12 minutes, and then answering questions about how the company could improve profitability, what its opportunities and weaknesses were, and performing a breakeven analysis.

It was a one hour, two 1:1 interview with 2 MDs. The first one was with a founder of the firm, focusing more on behavior questions, which was good. The second one was more technical and tougher, but I'm not sure what he was looking for. He asked me if I think I am lucky and how much a bottle of water costs. No case interview was involved. The firm is small and their goal is to help public firms enhance their shareholder value (i.e. improve stock price). The job is very data intense. One interesting thing is you can live anywhere you want as long as you have access to a major airport. You work at client site Monday-Thursday and at home Friday. The company has a gathering every quarter.

First, I had a 30-minute phone screen with a consultant, covering behavioral questions and a market sizing problem. Then, I proceeded to the second and final round where I met with two consultants and a partner. One consultant focused on behavioral and work history, while the other presented a case study involving financial analysis and profit improvement strategies for a company. The partner interview centered on my work experience. Unfortunately, I didn't receive an offer, with the feedback being 'not enough experience,' which I found confusing given I reached the final stage.
