Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GALLO.
Financial Analyst
They asked me a bunch of questions, some were easy, some harder. It was two interviewers and they mostly asked behavioral questions. Everything was answerable, but they did ask about 'the biggest risk you've ever taken,' which was a bit of a challenge.
- What makes you want to work for Gallo?
Financial Analyst
The first interview was a phone chat where they asked if I liked wine and then asked a lot of background questions, more personal than professional. The second interview was with a finance director, mostly behavioral, focusing on my background to see if I was genuinely interested in learning or just in it for the money. The third interview was a dinner with current employees to gauge my interaction style and likeability. The second round involved about 5 hours of interviews (40 mins each) with 6 people, including directors, VPs, and the CFO. These included a mix of behavioral questions and 4-5 case study questions about finance, marketing, operations, and strategy. Finally, there was another dinner with these individuals.
- When analyzing the operations of a newly acquired winery, including budgets and manufacturing, to assess efficiency, what kind of individuals would you want on the team?
Financial Analyst
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It included some basic questions about leadership and a review of my resume. They also asked a few technical questions, but they were not designed to be tricky. Additionally, there was a group activity where we were given a scenario with no single correct answer, and we had to present our solution to the managers. They also provided a lot of good food during the process!
- Can you define leadership?
