Galen College was easy to apply to and simple to set up an interview; everyone I interacted with was accommodating, friendly, supportive, professional, responsive, welcoming, and helpful throughout the application and interview process.

I was glad they scheduled the interview quickly. However, the position I applied for was already filled, and it's still listed on their website two weeks later. I chose to do an in-person interview. Two of the interviewers were late, which I felt was rude. The interview was only 30 minutes, and I wasn't allowed to ask any questions due to time constraints, which seems like a red flag to me.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • They each asked the typical HCA questions around the table.

It's usually a couple of rounds, maybe two or three interviews total. Sometimes you'll meet in person, but a lot of it is done over Zoom because new places are opening up and the leaders are traveling a bunch. There are generally at least two people interviewing you in each session. The very last interview will be with someone at the Regional or VP level, depending on the specific job.

  • Describe your leadership style.
  • How do you go about motivating your team?
  • How would you handle an employee who is difficult to manage?

I was contacted by the department manager who wanted to talk about the job, and then they set up an in-person interview. I went in and had a one-on-one with the manager. Then I got asked back for a second interview, which was in-person and a group interview with some of the people in the department. The manager then offered me the job, and HR called to give me the official offer.

  • Can you describe a time you had to manage conflicting deadlines, projects, or priorities?
