First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gables Residential.
Sales Professional
I had two interviews for this role. The first one was in person with the Manager, and the second one was a Zoom call with the Regional Manager. They communicated clearly. Because I didn't have direct experience, they suggested I could start through a temp agency for about 1-2 weeks before they'd make an offer.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this role?
Leasing Consultant
I interviewed for a Leasing Position within this company out of Texas. The interview process took 3 weeks in total. I first interviewed on a phone call with a Property Manager who was very straight forward about expectations which was appreciated. The second interview was a zoom call with the same manager but also a secondary or assistant manager. The third interview consisted of what I thought would be a regional manager, but instead was with a property manager from a different location. I found the final interview to be the least productive because she didn’t seem genuine about her approach. She seemed to write me off immediately, but I made it to a third interview I must’ve been doing something right. She wasn’t rude I just don’t think she found me to be a good fit. I was hoping to hear something back about moving forward like I was informed I would, but when I didn’t I assumed I did not receive the position. I will say that Gables seems to be a great company who genuinely cares about its residents. I will definitely be applying for positions within their ranks again.

Maintenance Manager
My interview process was really engaging. I'd heard great things about this company and was referred by a previous manager who knows my work ethic and attitude well. She thought this company's values would align with mine, and I agree. I had one in-person interview and one phone interview with a regional supervisor. I felt really at ease in both interactions. Both interviewers were professional and courteous, which positively influenced my decision to accept the offer. Following the interviews, I got an email with further instructions. I never felt looked down upon by anyone I interacted with.
- I don't recall any unexpected questions; everything was related to my skills and what was expected of me.
Leasing Professional
The interview was just weird. Seriously weird. First there was this really weird voice of the interviewer that made it super hard to understand at times. Kinda put me in an uncomfortable mood for the rest of the interview. Didn't like the questions they asked. Kind of a school exam. Very matter of fact. Felt like personality doesn't count. Questions like how would you react to or what would you do if and so on. How knows how they would react in advance. I'm not a freaking psychic.
- How would you react if a customer was upset?
