First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at G2.
Implementation Specialist
The interview process began with a phone screen, followed by an assessment. I really suggest doing some practice tests beforehand. The assessment has 50 questions and you only get 15 minutes. My first interview with the hiring manager was two days after that and it went really well. They asked a lot of questions about my background and my knowledge of G2 (definitely do your research). Three weeks later, I was invited back for a mock meeting with a fake new client. They give you the background information and then you and the team members act like a new client. After the presentation, I had three separate 30-minute one-on-one interviews with different team members.
- Can you share an instance where a customer interaction went poorly and describe your response?
- Could you tell us about your background?
- What's your familiarity with G2?
Client Support Specialist
The recruiter was super responsive and genuine, and the team was passionate and curious. They accommodated my timeline since I was in final stages with other companies. The interview process was thorough. It started with a recruiter phone screen to vet general work experience and interest in G2, followed by a 15-minute aptitude test. Then, there was a phone screen with the hiring manager, and finally an in-person interview with team members. I received an offer and had enough time to consider my options. The questions were pretty standard, no wild curve balls or in-depth situational questions. My advice is to practice the aptitude test using online resources and come prepared with questions for each interview.
- What do you know about G2? (asked multiple times, research this!)
Implementation Specialist
I had a short 15-minute call with the recruiter Sarah. We talked about my work history and what I'm looking for, and she explained the company and the role better. Then, I took a cognitive ability test. (A tip: practice tests beforehand are good, although the actual one was easier than the practice ones I did.) Following that, I had a 30-minute call with the head of the Implementation department, which I think went really well. The manager mentioned they really liked my attitude and that I should watch for an email from Sarah. Two days later, I got an email that was a rejection. I asked Sarah for feedback on how to be a better candidate since I think G2 is a promising company, but I never got a response. It's a bit frustrating when you get mixed signals, go through two interviews, and then get no advice on how to improve for future applications.
- Can you share an instance where you handled a challenging customer and what steps you took to resolve the situation?
