First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at G-Research.
Data Scientist
I sent in my CV and then got a 1.5-hour technical test. It had 4 questions: 2 easy Python, 1 MySQL, and 1 basic data science. The questions weren't too hard, but I ran out of time. If I had prepped a bit, I could've done it. Like many timed tests, it's more about coding speed, so having code snippets ready helps with whatever they throw at you.

- Another basic Python question
- A MySQL question
Data Scientist
We did a live coding test for data analysis using Python and Pandas. Then there were technical questions about calculating time complexity. We also covered database questions, fundamental computer science notations like queue/stack, and designing a Turing machine. They also checked my technical backgrounds and asked why I wanted to apply for G-research.
- What is the time complexity for certain events?
Data Scientist
The interview process involved some general questions about algorithms, machine learning, and my graduate education. I wasn't offered the job, but it seemed like an interesting company doing quantitative financial research.
- Can you explain the difference between supervised and unsupervised learning?
