Software Engineer
The interview involved coding exercises or live problem-solving, and system design or architecture discussions. There were also questions about relevant technologies, frameworks, and past projects. They evaluated code quality, performance considerations, and best practices. They also discussed past work experience and accomplishments, and asked behavioral and situational questions. They assessed communication skills and collaboration style, and checked for alignment with team culture, values, and expectations.
- Can you share your past experiences and the tech stack you utilized?
HR Advisor
Got a message from the recruiter super fast after I applied. Had a phone screen the next day, went good, then they set up an interview with the team manager for the day after. They mentioned they needed to hire quickly. Then, two days later, I had a follow-up interview with the department director. After that… crickets. I know hiring takes time, but it's so frustrating to just not hear back, either way. As someone in HR, this feels really unprofessional, and I wouldn't suggest interviewing with them.
- What's your approach to moving from an in-house HR role to a consultant position?
Analyst
If you’re applying for this role, hopefully you have plenty of relevant experience. If that’s the case, make sure to mention it all. But if you’re changing careers or trying something new, your experience might not seem like a perfect match at first. That’s where you’ll need to be a bit creative and honestly connect the required experiences with the ones you already have. Remember, people skills are universal – you just need to demonstrate how your customer service skills can be applied to internal management roles, for example.
- What would your former colleagues say about you?
- What have you done to build on your experience?
Client Advocate
I had 5 interviews with G&A over the course of a month. The whole process felt really long and honestly took too much of my time. What was also super frustrating was the lack of communication after each interview. I had to keep chasing them, and they'd just say a decision would be made that week. It took them three weeks to finally send me a rejection email, which I thought was pretty disrespectful considering how much time I put into it.
- Can you share some examples of customer interactions and how you managed them?
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with a situation involving a coworker and how you resolved it.
- Describe the kind of work environment that suits your personality best.
