First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FusionStorm.
Principal Architect
I went through three rounds of interviews. The first was technical, then a cultural fit interview, and the last one was a general interview with the Leadership Team. After each stage, the HR team would quickly set up the next interview, book travel, and cover expenses, making the whole process really smooth.
- Can you walk me through how you develop a client solution from start to finish, including the initial meeting and the proposal?
Director
The first round involved an in-person interview with four people. After arriving at the office, I interviewed with one person. The second interview was a phone call. Things went downhill from there. I was supposed to have another phone interview, but the person was in a conference call all day, so we had to reschedule for three days later. While waiting for that person, I was left alone in a room for 20 minutes with no one to assist me. The final interview was also supposed to be in person, but the interviewer was 30 minutes late. I even made a joke about hoping this wasn't a reflection of how the company is run. The second round was a phone interview with a VP who was on a business trip and was supposed to call me. He called 10 minutes late, spoke briefly, and the call dropped. He tried to call back, but we couldn't connect. I had to contact HR to figure out what was happening. The call was rescheduled for a week later. The third round was a phone interview with another VP who had an "emergency" and never contacted me. Again, I had to reach out to HR to get an update. After five days, they said they still hadn't heard from the VP. I had lost interest by then. This place is a joke; they clearly don't value people's time. Every scheduled contact was either delayed, postponed, or a no-show. I should have withdrawn my application after the first interview.
- Tell me about your experience.
Solutions Architect
The interview process was pretty standard for a Solutions Architect role in the Bay Area. It kicked off with a recruiter call, then a phone screen, followed by a call with the hiring manager. After that, there was an in-person interview with about 4 or 5 people. They made the decision about a week later. Some parts focused on technical skills, while others assessed personality fit. The team was very open about the job. While some interview sessions were a bit unconventional, it was appreciated. It felt like they prioritize a dynamic personality, assuming they can train you on any technical skills you might be missing. I think that's a good approach because you don't want to work with someone who's difficult, no matter how skilled they are.
- We had more of a casual tech chat rather than specific technical questions.
Project Administrator
I was found by the company. A recruiter first gave me a phone interview. Then I had a thirty-minute meeting with the manager. After that, I joined a group interview with the whole team I would be working with. They made an offer within an hour after the group interview, before I could even go home and write a thank-you email. Not FusionStorm, they got straight to business and I appreciated their quick decision.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience and your familiarity with Salesforce and other tools like Office?
- Are you comfortable working in a team setting for large projects?
- How would you approach the extensive project tracking in Salesforce and coordination with senior project managers required for this role?
