Software Engineer
It started with a one-hour call with HR. Then there was a really big take-home assignment. After I sent it back, they rejected me. What really annoyed me was that HR made the effort seem way smaller than it was. In the review, they focused more on small formal errors than on the overall approach or if the solution actually solved the main problem. Considering how big the assignment was, this was pretty disheartening.
- Could you design a browser-based visitor activity tracking service, akin to a simplified Google Analytics?
- How would you capture user interactions such as page visits and button clicks?
- How would you store these activity logs on the server for future retrieval?
GTM
I went through the whole interview process for the GTM Enablement Coordinator role, which included a case study and a recorded presentation. Even though I completed all the stages, I didn't end up getting an offer. The process moved quickly overall, but the recruiter took a while to get back to me initially. Everyone was really nice, which made me think I had a good chance. But then the final decision didn't really align with the positive feedback I'd been getting from the recruiter, director, and manager. They just said no without explaining why, which was a bummer because I was really into the job at that point.

Director of Product Marketing
I went through an interview process for a product marketing leadership role and was disappointed. Our interview was rescheduled last minute. Then, I had a superficial chat with a recruiter who didn't seem to know the role's needs. The recruiter, located outside the US, had her Calendly set to very early US EST hours. She asked broad, high-level questions that didn't match the position's scope or my background. It felt like a quick check-the-box task rather than a real evaluation. I was told the next day they weren't moving forward, with no feedback. For a senior role, I'd expect the first conversation to be with someone who could discuss the responsibilities and strategic importance of the job. This made me wonder about their internal team coordination and how seriously they take experienced candidates.
- The recruiter asked me twice why I wanted to work at FundraiseUp.
Product Designer
The process included a screening interview, a take-home assignment, a chat with the head of design, and then a meeting with the VP of product. Everyone seemed to really know their stuff and enjoy their work. They were all nice and good at talking, asking about my past experiences and doing some role-playing. After talking to the VP of Product, I felt like this could be a dream job. Thanks to everyone involved for considering me. I'm sure you'll find the right person.
- If I wanted to work at your company, why would you recommend I join?
