First, I filled out an online application on the FCS website. Then, I got a call for a screening interview. After that, the actual school reached out to me for an interview. I went in for an in-person interview with the department head. Then I had a second interview with the department head and the principal. Finally, they extended an offer.

I started with a phone interview and they put me in the teacher pool right away. Then, I had a panel interview where I had to teach a lesson. The panel pretended to be students and asked questions about the lesson content. I taught the lesson, explained it, and asked them questions to check their understanding. If they seemed confused, I'd go over it again and ask more questions to make sure they got it. It was my first time teaching a lesson in an interview, and I was nervous at first, but I got into teacher mode and ended up having a good time. After the lesson, they asked the usual interview questions. The whole thing was about 40 minutes. I got offered the job after the panel interview. I've also had interviews with principals to find a placement, and I still have more interviews coming up. They also did a background check.

First, we'll look at Google's teaching expectations and see how they match up with yours. Then, you'll need to prepare a 30-second elevator pitch about yourself. You're all set after that! The first interview is usually an online, voice-activated one where you'll be asked a set of questions. You won't be able to see the answers and make changes. You'll have a set amount of time to record your answers. That's why I suggested preparing your responses beforehand, thinking about goals and expectations for the specific student demographic and any instructional challenges. Once you have this ready, you'll do great!
