First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fullerton College.
Embedded Tutor
It was one group interview with about 5 other students, and it took less than an hour. The hiring manager asks questions to everyone after a general introduction about who you are. Then everyone takes turns answering the group question. They emphasize that this interview is just to get to know you. You are already hired basically if you made it to the interview phase.
- Why do you want to tutor?
Lab Technician
It was a chill and simple process. Just be sure to have all your docs and IDs ready because it takes time to get everything sorted if they decide to hire you on the spot. They asked common sense questions about soft skills.
- How would you deescalate a difficult situation?
Instructor
There was a 6 person panel interview with faculty members, it was very professional. The interviewers and HR were experts in their fields and showed a lot of respect. Then there was a 2 person final interview with the same questions, but there were a few interruptions from electronic devices.
- Can you tell us about your educational and professional history?
- Could you share an example of how you've shown awareness and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of students, faculty, and staff in terms of academics, socioeconomic status, culture, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnicity?
- Please detail your engagement with professional organizations and associations, as well as the time you've dedicated to community and educational initiatives.
Administrator
This role was in a student service office. I had several interviews with different department people. They were clear about the interview process, but it took a long time from applying to finally getting the offer.
- What are your 5-year career goals?
