Software Engineer
The interview process was good overall. The first round gave me a solid understanding of how my skills would be used. The people I met were nice, and they offer full healthcare coverage. It's good they're moving towards using Laravel from their old PHP setup, showing they want to update. On the downside, each team has a daily 4-hour video call for working together, and Wednesdays are packed with meetings. They also want tasks estimated in hours and tracked precisely in Jira, which sounds like the micromanaging mentioned in some reviews.
- To wrap up, they explained their work methods — daily 4-hour co-working video calls, Wednesdays being mostly meetings, estimating tasks by the hour, and tracking to the minute in Jira — and asked if this arrangement would work for me, noting that some developers aren't fond of it. I appreciated their transparency.
- They described their working style: daily 4-hour team video calls, Wednesdays filled with meetings, Agile hour-based estimations, and minute-level Jira tracking, then asked if I could adapt to this. They also mentioned that some developers find this challenging, so I'm glad they were upfront about it.
Business Development Representative
Had a phone call, and then some follow up interviews about the role, compensation, etc. Spoke to multiple people about the role and what they're looking for in a BDR at their company. I only spoke to one person and got declined before speaking to the next person.
- What is your understanding of our company
HR Generalist
It was a great interview process with 3 phases. I had 2 interviews with the Director of HR and then one with the Chief Operating Officer. Both conversations were super informative and gave me a good look into the role and the company.
- How do you go about creating a positive workplace culture?
Product Owner
I went through a screener and then a first full interview that felt pretty good. After that, I never heard back. The interviewer was pleasant and could answer questions about the company, but it was hard to hear them and they seemed to be in control. It would be nice to feel like my time is valued as an applicant as much as the company's time is.
- Can you define what an Epic is in Jira or ADO?
