First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FrontRange Solutions.
Sales
The process was long and sometimes all over the place. The main interviewer couldn't stick around for a 30-minute presentation. There were long gaps between the first chat and follow-ups, then suddenly everything was last minute. It wasn't a great two-way street for me to check things out. I did get a decent chance to meet team members to see what the wider company culture is like.
- What steps would you take to improve our company?
Principal Software Engineer
The interview was pretty smooth, though I did get grilled by some really smart folks here. It's a cool place to work, and being around smart people makes work interesting and fulfilling. Most interviews were one-on-one, but there was one group/panel interview where I talked briefly with the hiring manager and a future colleague. They were keen on my technical skills and how I've applied them to tough problems before. Near the end, the hiring manager explained the system I'd work on, laid out some current issues, and asked for my solutions. I saw this as a test of my ability to think fast and a live demo of applying my skills to their immediate problems. I think that part really convinced the hiring manager.

- Describe instances where you applied your technical expertise to overcome complex challenges in previous roles.

Sales Director
So, I got a referral from someone inside the company. First, I had a chat with HR over the phone. Then, I talked to the hiring manager and a team member. After that, since it's a director role, the CEO called me for an interview. It was a full hour, pretty intense, and it was clear the CEO really wanted to make sure I had the right talent. I just answered honestly. There was one skill they were looking for that I didn't have, but I admitted I wasn't strong there and thought I could learn it. But my other skills were really good, and in the end, they were enough for me to get the job.
- Could you share a real-world example of how you handled a specific situation in a past role?
Technical Writer
I had three 1-on-1 interviews, each lasting about half an hour. The interviewers included a writer, a manager, and a technical expert. They each asked a different set of questions. Most of the questions were about gathering information and problem-solving. Two of the interviewers were conversational, but the technical reviewer seemed a bit uncomfortable.
- Can you describe your process for gathering information?
