It was a video call with just the hiring manager. It felt more like a mutual conversation than a formal interview. There was actually so much time left for me to ask questions that it made the hiring manager seem uninterested, which, unfortunately, might explain why I didn't get an offer.

I was contacted by a recruiter after speaking with the hiring manager at a virtual job fair. They then scheduled a phone interview with the hiring manager. After that went well, I spoke with the hiring manager and the director. I had prepared questions based on the job description, including asking about the contract length. The director mentioned it never ends, which struck me as odd since contracts usually have an end date. Despite this red flag, I didn't decline the job offer because the salary was better and the commute was shorter. It's always good to ask about contract duration.

Recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn, then I applied. Had a 30-min chat with the recruiter. Then I interviewed with the hiring manager, and after that, with the hiring manager and two team members. They extended a conditional offer contingent on government approval, which they seemed sure about. But two days after I accepted, I was told the position wasn't approved (or I wasn't approved). I never knew about the government customer approval part until the offer stage. No explanation, just a rejection from someone I didn't even meet. It felt like a month of my time was wasted. It was a bummer because the company and role seemed great, especially since they reached out to me first.

The interview process was really well-organized, not much of a mess. You can ace it if you have good communication skills. Make sure to know the basics about the company and be confident. You don't need super deep knowledge, but you gotta be good at coding.
