It started with a phone call from the recruiter. Then, over about two weeks, I had two main interview rounds. Because of COVID, everything was done virtually. Each of these two rounds had three parts, and I met with people individually or in groups. Everyone I met was really great, super nice and collaborative. Special shout-out to Kevin, the recruiter, who was amazing – the most considerate recruiter I've ever encountered. Unlike many others who ghost you about interview results, Kevin kept me updated on the progress. He even called me personally to let me know I wasn't selected. He truly went above and beyond for candidates, setting a high standard for professionalism. I definitely learned a lot through this whole process.

Overall a great learning experience. Kevin's a great guy. I only lasted 2 steps into the process and that's my fault. I haven't used R and SQL since leaving school due to the fact that my new job didn't use any of those languages. Matlab and Python had become an emphasis for me through my job. Had one day to refresh up on all my R and SQL but Yvonne just skipped it. I told her I was rusty on those languages. As a stats major from UCSB those two languages were probably the two heavy in my undergrad course so I'm getting a kick for laughs with my data mining buds on this one for messing up these questions. All is well, sometimes your just not mean't to be at the company. Best of luck to Friendfinder.com and everyone there.

I applied online and a recruiter reached out. We set up a call to get to know each other, and then I had an onsite meeting with the team. Honestly, this was one of the worst interview processes ever. After the onsite, the recruiter told me everything was good and the hiring manager liked me, but he was concerned about adult content and my sensitivity to it. I said it was fine with me, which is why I applied and came all this way. Then, he asked me to look at a couple of sites supported by Friend Finder to see if I was still okay with the content. I did, and I was totally fine. I emailed my recruiter explaining which sites I visited, how they were similar and different, and how I'd handle that stuff. The next day, I didn't get a response to my email, just a generic email saying, 'Thank you for applying, but your qualifications didn't match...' Seriously? If you want to work on something creative with good people, don't even bother applying here.

I was contacted for an interview, set up an interview time, but come the day and time of the interview I did not receive any call from the hiring manager. I e-mailed the HR employee who had contacted me about the position but did not hear from the company for a few days until finally someone called me to say that the position had already been filled but no one was properly informed. Seems like the communication and management of the company was not as professional as one would like it to be. After the initial confusion of my interview and waiting to find out if I could even reschedule/what was going on, I was very disappointed in the organization of the company. I would rather work for someone who valued my time and efforts and was organized enough to have the proper communication between departments.
