Started with the hiring manager, then a timed and monitored take-home assignment where I had to write and push a test automation suite to GitHub. The final round was with the team and involved behavioral questions, plus some technical questions about DevOps and testing.

It was an easy quick interview with the founder and lead. It went on for about 30 minutes over a Zoom Call. It was a fascinating look into a referral company.

Technical Coding Behavioral

I was referred by a recruiter. The first step was a phone interview with the lead engineer. After that, I had a coding challenge to complete. I submitted it, but it wasn't perfect as it needed comments, cleanup, and more test cases. They tested it anyway, even though I only spent an evening on it. My advice is to be thorough with your questions before submitting your code for the coding challenge.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

A recruiter from a 3rd party reached out to me. The whole thing took about a week and included three interviews. First up was a phone screen. After that, I had an in-person interview with the Director of CS and the COO, which lasted two hours. Finally, I had a video call with the CEO that was an hour long. They were super fast with their process. Everyone I spoke with was really nice and knew their stuff. I liked talking to them all. They asked questions about their product, ecommerce, and what a CSM does. The interviewers were respectful of my time and let me ask questions too. It felt more like chatting than a formal interview, which was nice. They seem like a professional team and got back to me quickly after each interview. Even though I didn't get the offer because someone else had more ecommerce experience, I'm excited to see how they grow. Overall, it was a really positive experience.
