First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Friar Tux Shop.
Intern
I applied for an internship via an after-school class and the interview process was pretty straightforward. The interview began earlier than expected. A manager, I think, quickly described the job responsibilities. After that, they asked for a cover letter before my start date. Dress code was formal.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself and your availability?
- When are you able to work?
Assistant Manager
The interview process went great, there was a screening and then an actual interview with the store manager. I like that they don’t just hire anyone that applies. The interview showed me that the company really values good workers and they do a great job explaining everything that goes on in the company as well as the pay.
- Tell me about a time your previous manager did something you disagreed with.
Manager In Training
I had an online chat with Jennifer first, who was super helpful with preparation advice and really flexible. Then I talked to Eric, the VP of sales, who was really nice and made the interview easy. He asked relevant questions for the role. He's still in touch now that I've started, great company.
- Could you share your experience relevant to this role?
Sales Associate
The process is pretty standard. They are mostly interested in you as a person. Typically, you'll interview with the store manager and then the District Manager. I've heard some people only do one interview. They are looking for part-timers because of the store hours. You're more likely to get hired between January and June because of prom and wedding season.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses, and provide examples?
