Solution Engineer
First I had a call with HR, they asked me basic questions about my current role and experience. Then I had a call with the Hiring Manager, which was really nice and I felt welcomed. He was very interested in my current job. The next step was a presentation where I had to prepare a short demo of a product I know. The roleplay was fun. The interviewers were well-prepared and had researched my product beforehand, asking many specific questions, so you really need to prepare well for this step. After the demo, there were two more HR calls to discuss salary expectations and other details. Finally, I received an offer with all the details explained. The whole process was amazing, very fast, and everyone was very nice. Well done Freshworks! I'm looking forward to starting.

Solution Engineer
So, I went through two rounds for this Senior Solution Engineer role. The first week was an interview with the Hiring Manager. The second week involved a Product Presentation & Demo to a panel of 3 people. I had to roleplay as the CEO, CIO & Sales Director of a potential customer. The demo round was pretty cool, they gave me 5 days to prepare a presentation and demo of Freshworks CRM and Freshdesk using their stock slide deck and info pack. The panel grilled me with tons of product questions, and I think they were checking my objection handling skills. Some questions were really technical, which was tough since I only had a few days to learn the product, even though they said they weren't looking for an expert. I really enjoyed the challenge and felt I created a great presentation and customized the CRM/Freshdesk instances well, handling objections throughout the demo. On the downside, the initial and final HR interactions were a bit off. The first email was vague, and the rejection email was a one-liner: "Unfortunately, our team did not select you for further consideration due to fitment mismatch for the requirement basis competency." I had to push for more feedback after spending a week preparing, and their responses lacked empathy, which was disappointing.
- How did you handle scenario-based questions related to objections during the demo?
- Can you describe your experience with scenario-based questions for objection handling in a demo setting?
Pre-Sales Engineer
I applied through LinkedIn and was contacted by HR within two weeks. We had a brief chat, and they approved me for the role, scheduling an in-person interview at their office within the following week. I then met with four senior team members back-to-back. They seemed happy and asked me to meet the Technical Head to finalize things. This second round was scheduled within two weeks. The HR called me to meet the Tech Head, and after an hour-long conversation, the interviewer left. The HR then said they would contact me later. They didn't even bother to inform me about my selection status, which is quite disappointing.
- Can you describe your responsibilities in your previous role?
