Human Resources Generalist
I got a call for an interview and played phone tag but eventually spoke with the recruiter. We scheduled a phone interview that went well. Then, a face-to-face interview was set up and that also went very well. I was waiting for dates for the next round of interviews, but I got hired by another company. After talking to a few people there, it seems like they're indecisive and disorganized, which made me question the company culture. They also aren't great with following up or keeping candidates informed after multiple interviews. I don't think I'll apply to this company again.
- Could you tell me about your resume and background?
Sales Representative
The first interview was pretty chill, mostly just checking if I knew my way around selling. We talked about Farmer/Hunter sales strategies since they want reps who can do both. No tough questions, really. It was more about seeing if I was professional and had the right attitude. They also told me about the job and how great the company is. The second interview was a bit more challenging. They wanted to be sure I knew there was a lot to learn and how committed I'd be to keeping up with products, market conditions, and service stuff.
- How often do you take sick days?
- Do you have experience with both Farmer and Hunter sales strategies?
- Can you describe your commitment level to staying updated on products, market conditions, and service issues?
Accountant
I had a phone interview with the HR manager, then a one-on-one with the Controller, and another one-on-one with the President. They took their time deciding, wanting the interviews done quickly. The whole process took about 2 months to get the offer. If the pay had been better, I would have accepted. They were nice and the atmosphere seemed decent. But since you'd be the only accountant there, they weren't paying much.
- Could you elaborate on the job expectations?
- Tell me about your experience in accounting.
Assistant Buyer
The interview experience was awkward. I felt undervalued and judged, like the interviewer didn't want to be there. He was arrogant. He asked me about my qualifications and attendance record. I answered everything properly. Then he explained the position and implied I wasn't suited for it, which I disagreed with. He said they'd let me know either way. I dropped off a thank you note the next day, but they never called me back as they said they would.
- Are you punctual and do you request time off?
