Intern
The process was annoying and took a full day. The CEO makes his decision by the end of the interview. Anytime there's a 1 round interview that should be a huge red flag. It reeks of desperation. He asks you questions to get to how you'll act around others. Apparently my horoscope sign and who I'd like to have dinner with answers that. He judges you and maintains his pretentious exterior. Another red flag. A CEO that thinks he's at the forefront of innovation in a company no one has heard of. He also has an open door policy. Meaning everyone and their mother can hear what's going on in your interview. Any time he laughs at whatever he's reading... Assume it's a message about how you just responded to a question. Judgement central.
- How many siblings do you have?
- Who would you like to have dinner with, living or dead, and why?
VUI Designer
This company is incredibly deceiving. I applied for a contract role with a good salary, and got an email saying I was a perfect fit. However, they then referred to the role as an 'Internship'. I checked Glassdoor and saw reviews about them using unpaid interns. I asked Fresh Digital Group if it was unpaid, and they confirmed it was. While I don't personally agree with using unpaid interns, it's their business model. However, advertising a paid contract role and then switching it to an unpaid internship during interviews is dishonest and unprofessional. I had already spent hours preparing for an interview that would have had a nasty surprise. I don't trust companies that operate this way, so job seekers, be warned.
- After they described the company as a great and creative place to work and grow professionally, they asked if we could schedule an in-person interview at my earliest convenience.
Public Relations Specialist
I applied online and then went for an interview at the office about a week after. Two ladies from HR interviewed me. At the end, one of them said she'd let me know in a week, but never did. I emailed her and she told me they went with someone else. During the interview, I asked about my responsibilities. They mentioned there's another intern but she's also figuring things out.
- Why are you interested in Public Relations and specifically this company?
- What are your expectations from this role/company?
- Can you share an instance where you handled a disagreement?
Copywriter
I walked in and the head of HR greeted me. Then I was interviewed by her and the CEO. They didn't introduce themselves, which was a bit odd, but maybe that was intentional. We talked about some basic stuff regarding my motivations and experiences. It was fine.
