The interview went well because I knew most of the employees at Walmart in Irving. I had a great relationship with Management due to working for a third party vendor in various Walmarts around the DFW Metroplex. My home store was in Irving in which I had more involvement with that location. My interview was short due to my tenure with the previous vendors that I had worked for and required Management cooperation in order to complete my tasks...promoting their clients.

So I was really interested in this company because their website said they support organizations changing the world. I wanted to learn more about how they activate events. It turns out they are a fundraising company for DARE International. That's pretty much it. Their events and daily push is to get out into the community, set up tables, and get DARE donations. They might do some toy drives too, but that's all. The interview was basically them trying to sell me on DARE while I asked questions to figure out what they actually do.

I applied for a receptionist job. When I went for the interview, they left me waiting for a while and were laughing in another room. When the interview finally started, they explained that I would be expected to attend events and promote the company and DARE, possibly by collecting donations. I zoned out because it seemed suspicious. They then mentioned opportunities for advancement and high earnings through commission. Finally, they asked me to work an event for them for free on a Friday from 9-5, although I would be paid if I took the job. I did not go because I had applied to be a receptionist, and it felt like a pyramid scheme.

The company is rebranding from Freedom Events to WISE CREATIONS, and their old website is no longer active. I discovered this by searching for 'Wise Creations' and the address, which led back to 'Freedom Events.' However, I suspected it was a scam because they contacted me about my resume for a company I hadn't applied to ('Wise Creations'). It's also a major red flag when a company wants to schedule an in-person interview right away without any prior phone or video calls. Be cautious!
