There were 5 rounds total, with back-to-back in-person interviews on-site over 2 days. It could even stretch to 3 days if an interviewer felt they needed more time. The questions weren't overly difficult, but there were a couple that felt like traps or just plain strange. I saw negative reviews online, and initially, my early meetings made me think they weren't true. But then I met the CEO, who talks a lot and actually said things like 'we need to hire people who aren't protective of their weekends, but everyone tells me I shouldn't say that because it scares candidates away.' He kept digging himself deeper when discussing the company's past issues and the reviews. He's the reason hiring is so tough, which is wild for a recruiting agency! After getting the offer, I checked the reviews again and realized the behavior described matched what I experienced with the CEO. This made me lose faith in the company. I decided to pass and look elsewhere for a company with a clearer product plan that won't make me work on random pet projects.

This was a LONG interview process. It started with an initial recruiter screening call via Zoom. Then, there was a 30-minute Zoom interview with a Talent Agent. After that, I had a ~45-minute take-home exercise. The next part was two back-to-back 45-minute interviews IN PERSON at the office with a Senior Talent Agent and another person. Then, two more back-to-back 45-minute interviews IN PERSON AGAIN with the CEO and another person. I was pretty exhausted after the first on-site day and was surprised to be called back for a second in-person interview day. Not sure if it was just bad scheduling or if they intentionally do it that way, but I think those last interviews could have been combined into one day. I was interviewing at other places and even accepted another offer before finishing the process here because it took so long. On the plus side, everyone was really nice.

Behavioral Presentation

I had 2 separate interviews with both founders. The first interview seemed to go fine. I was asked to interview with the co-founder the following week. He started the interview asking me “what question do you have for me” which I thought was really odd. I had been told I would be a good fit for several positions in both interviews and then was ghosted after the second interview. No responses to my thank you notes and no reach out to explain what had happened either. If this is how they manage their talent doing business, I’m glad they didn’t move forward with me. A response would have been nice considering they thought I was a “great” candidate and reviewed multiple roles with me in their interview process.

It was a 3 part process: a take-home assignment, a chat with the Chief People Officer, and then a chat with the head of the Talent Agent teams. The take-home involved finding competitive jobs for candidates, writing a cover letter for one of them, and submitting it with a mock resume. I was compensated for the take-home portion. This is because they are a startup and are in the growing stages.
