First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fraser.
Case Manager
The interview process started with a phone interview, and then moved on to virtual meetings with different managers. The phone interview covered general topics, while the virtual meetings were more focused on the job itself. I thought it was a pretty good process overall, and it only took about a month from when I applied until I got the offer.
- Describe a situation where you worked as part of a team.
Mental Health Practitioner
I had 2 interviews. First, HR called and asked some quick questions about my background. Then, they sent my info to another location that was hiring, and they did an in-person interview. I spoke with 2 people there who asked me more specific questions about how I would handle certain situations and asked about my past experiences.
- Can you share an instance where you had to de-escalate a situation with a child's parent?
Mental Health Practitioner II
I applied online and got a phone interview setup request in less than a week. After that call, I was invited for an in-person interview. The HR recruiter and the Licensed Professional I interviewed with were nice, but I had some issues. During the phone interview, the HR rep mentioned two MHPII roles at Fraser and which one I was being considered for. But at the in-person interview, they interviewed me for the other role. I pointed this out, and she apologized, saying roles and requirements had changed internally without telling me, which put me in a tough spot. Despite this, I took the job. My second issue was with the employment paperwork. Fraser advertises clinical supervision as a benefit, a strength they pushed during the interview. But my contract had a supervision repayment clause. HR also gave me only 24 hours to sign everything. Since individual supervision is unpaid time at Fraser, and I wasn't told this, the clause made me uncomfortable. I told the recruiter I might back out because of it and their lack of transparency. HR quickly set up a call with me and their Compliance Rep. They said Fraser would change their policy, and I didn't need to sign the clause. However, I now know Fraser still requires repayment if clinicians leave early. So, Fraser might not make you sign that contract if you push back, and I really suggest discussing it with them.
- Tell me about your educational background.
- Describe your work background.
- What is your understanding of ASD?
Behavior Technician
First, there was a phone call where they asked some basic and get-to-know-you questions. The HR person talked about how frustrating the job can be and that it can be dangerous. Then, there was a Zoom interview with a nice woman who mainly wanted to know why you want to work with kids with disabilities.
- Can you share an example of when you assisted a child during a crisis?
- Describe a situation where you helped a child in crisis.
- Tell me about a time you helped a child through a crisis.
