First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fractal.
Project Intern
I applied for this offcampus opportunity through LinkedIn. The first stage was an online assessment with MCQs, a medium DSA problem, and some medium SQL questions, all of which I completed. Following that, I was invited to a DSA and project-based interview. They delved into the details of my three resume projects, which were mostly ML-based. Then, I had to live code a string-related question, which I managed successfully. This interview lasted about an hour. A few days later, I had an HR round that took about 30 minutes, covering typical HR questions like family background, introduction, and reasons for interest in the company.
- Can you find the largest substring in a given string where no character repeats?
- Could you elaborate on simple questions concerning quantization and fine tuning?
Internship
It was an easy interview process. The online assessment was tough and lengthy, focusing heavily on data interpretation and SQL, which was very tiring. While the mental ability questions were manageable, the data interpretation part was extremely challenging. Not many candidates from my campus were selected.
- Were there case studies involved?
- What general HR questions were asked?
- Were basic guesstimates part of the interview?
Project Intern
I applied to Fractal with a referral and got into the first round, which was mainly aptitude reasoning, math, and English questions. It was timed, with limited time per section and scores shown at the end. I heard about the interview five days before, giving me enough time to prep. The first round was technical, about 15 minutes. They asked general questions, for an intro, and discussed my projects. Some SQL questions came up based on my projects. Coding questions were easy to average because of the time limit. Then, an HR round followed, lasting around 30 minutes. The HR person was nice and engaging. I introduced myself and talked about my projects again. They asked about data processing projects even if not on my resume. I discussed a data preprocessing project I did. The interviewer also asked general questions about Fractal Analytics and my interest in AI and ML. They seemed happy with my answers and projects.
- Tell me about the projects you have done.
- Please introduce yourself.
- Can you detail the SQL parts of your projects?
