Analytics Consultant
So I applied during the pandemic, and the entire interview process was conducted online. It started with two online tests: one was focused on SQL, mostly multiple-choice questions with a few queries to write, and then there was a 90-minute aptitude test. The aptitude test had three parts: verbal ability, quantitative ability, and data interpretation. I found the data interpretation part to be a bit tricky and time-consuming, so I'd suggest doing it last. Interestingly, I had to take the aptitude test a second time because the HR person couldn't see my first attempt. After that, I had a video call for a technical interview.
- Can you introduce yourself and tell me about your previous role?
- How would you go about structuring a report given a particular client's needs?
- Can you answer some SQL questions about rank and group by, perhaps verbally or by writing them down?
Analytics Consultant
I applied for this Analytics Consultant role in Bangalore. Initially, I was sent a Python and SQL test, which I found strange for a consulting job and it wasn't even data science-related, more like a generic engineering coding test. It was 160 minutes long, and I finished it the next weekend, answering all questions. I emailed HR to confirm, but heard nothing for a week. Another week later, I got the same email saying I was shortlisted and to take the test. I've emailed HR multiple times saying I already took it and asking about the next steps, but still no response. Their HR and recruitment process is really disorganized; they should at least track submissions.
- Attempt the Python+SQL test for initial screening.
- The test had Coding questions which were also tested on efficiency (speed of execution).
Analytics Consultant
The interview process kicks off with an aptitude test and a coding skills assessment. If you pass those, you'll have a telephonic technical discussion focusing on your past work experience and contributions. Success there leads to an in-person business round with problem-solving and situational questions. Finally, there's an HR manager round. You'll get the offer the same day.
- Discuss sentiment analysis.
- How have you approached data modelling?
