QA Engineer
So the interview process was pretty standard, recruiter phone screen, then a call with the manager, and finally an in-person interview at their office. It was a group interview setup where different team members rotated in to interview me for about 30 minutes each. It was kinda disorganized though, the manager was late, and another engineer had to step in to interview me while waiting. There wasn't much planning or coordination, and they even asked the same questions multiple times. It was chaotic, and the questions weren't very challenging. They even brought in an automation engineer for a manual testing role, which felt a bit confrontational, and they seemed to have a problem with everything I said. Overall, it lacked professionalism. It ended without anyone knowing who would escort me out, so I was just left waiting for a few minutes until someone figured it out. I never got a response back, even though they said I'd hear in two weeks. It really makes you wonder, after spending 3 hours of your time, shouldn't they at least bother to respond?

I applied on LinkedIn and the recruiter reached out to schedule a 30-minute phone screen. This initial call involved standard questions like 'Tell me about yourself,' 'Why X?', 'Give me an example of Y,' and salary expectations. Near the end, the recruiter sent links for two tests: a quick Wonderlic (30 questions, 8 minutes) and a behavioral assessment. The Wonderlic was straightforward, but the behavioral test was tougher due to some less-than-perfect response options. I finished both tests the next business day and let the recruiter know I was eager for in-person interviews. Unfortunately, 24 hours later, I received a rejection email.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What makes you want to work for X?
- Could you provide an example of Y?

It started with a 30-minute call with HR, then a 30-minute call with the manager of the team, and finally a 30-minute video call with that team. These calls were spaced about a week apart. The HR recruiter actually missed three scheduled meetings, giving excuses like forgetting or having something come up. I was told they usually promote internally for this role but couldn't right now because everyone was too junior. This makes me wonder if there's a lot of growth potential (which wasn't mentioned) or if they have high turnover. Despite these red flags, I was offered an on-site interview, but then it was canceled three days later because 'the team is going in a different direction.' This makes it seem like HR might have extended the offer before consulting the team, or perhaps they were hedging their bets and had someone else in mind as a backup. Either way, I found it extremely unprofessional.
- Can you share an instance where you had to explain a technical concept to a non-technical audience?
Leadership
The interview process was smooth and informative. I felt very catered to and valued from the beginning. I was "wowed" by the entire experience. The product is super cool and the people are even cooler. The HR team was professional and always kept me informed. The recruiter even called me the night before (on a Sunday) to ensure I was comfortable with the agenda, etc. I was very impressed!!!
