First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Four Winds Hospitals.
Mental Health Worker
Got a call a couple days after applying on Indeed (but had to apply on their site too). We set up an interview date within a week. They went over my resume and asked basic questions, then it was mostly a chat about what to expect as a mental health worker. The interview process is pretty chill, so no need to be too nervous!
- What are your future aspirations?
Registered Nurse
I met with a nurse manager for my interview. We reviewed my resume and was asked questions to confirm my experience and get to know me a bit better. Then I asked many questions about the facility, which unit I would be on, expectations, training, and room for growth. It was a standard interview, but it took about 3 months to even get a call from HR. There are multiple people working in HR who handle interested applicants. I recommend calling and leaving your information with all of them.
- What makes you want to join our team here?
- What are your short-term career goals?
- What are your long-term career goals?
Mental Health Worker
I sat down with the unit supervisors and they asked me questions about my stress levels. I also had to do fingerprints and a background check for the hospital. They said I'd get a lot of independent training but never gave me the time for it. They gave me a quick walk-through of the campus and not much information about the job requirements.
- Are you easily stressed?
- Is lifting necessary?
- Can you ensure safety?
Mental Health Worker
There were about 2 interviews with two different people. The faculty in human resources are really nice. After being hired, you get two weeks of paid training before you're on call as a Mental Health Worker for units of all ages. Later on, a unit might hire you full-time to only work with their age group and you'd get a pay differential of about 50 cents an hour.
- Can you tell us about your best characteristic?
- What about your worst characteristic?
- Tell us about a time you faced a problem and how you solved it.
