First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Four Pillars Marketing.
Account Executive
After applying online, I got a call from Four Pillars to schedule the first interview. I met with CEO Alexander Tabar, who was really energetic and passionate. The first interview was mostly about my background, experience, and why I chose marketing. The office vibe was very professional and friendly. I was told I'd hear back that evening by 5pm if I made it to the second round. I got the call later that day and they set up the second interview for the next morning, which was great since I was visiting from out of town. This interview explained the business structure and my role in detail, highlighting growth opportunities and job expectations. Right after, I was invited for a third round with Alex the same day. This last interview was to finalize any questions he had and for me to ask any remaining questions about the role, expectations, or the company. After this final interview, I was told I'd get a call within the next week with their decision.
- Can you walk me through your background, experience, interests, and skills?
- Please explain your motivations for pursuing a career in marketing.
- Can you elaborate on why you are specifically interested in this role?
Marketing Sales Management Trainee
The initial interview was easy to schedule, but felt impersonal. The building's exterior was dingy and dirty, and the neighborhood felt odd for the business. Inside wasn't much better, with a TV and music playing loudly. The space seemed uncared for, with dirty floors and windows. The interview lasted about fifteen minutes. The interviewer was not very friendly and spoke too quickly to understand. I got vague details about the job, mainly hearing about the company's success and expansion plans. It seems like one position covers many roles like marketing, PR, admin, and HR. Salary information was also vague. I didn't ask many questions due to the unprofessional appearance and the interviewer's cold attitude. I declined further interviews.
- In five years, where do you envision yourself?
- Which specific job role are you looking to get into?
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
Marketing Administrator
I had three interviews spread across two days. The first one was on the first afternoon, and it was pretty short, only about 25 minutes. I was waiting in the lobby and then met the CEO for my first interview. He asked general questions, like ones I've had before. He also spent time telling me about the company and what they do, then asked me why I thought I should get a second interview. The next day, I got a call inviting me back for a second, longer interview, which lasted two hours. This one was off-site over coffee, and it was really cool because I got to answer questions and also learn about marketing tactics I didn't know much about. After getting back, I had another meeting with the CEO where I could go over what I learned and share my thoughts on the process and the person who led the second interview.
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in marketing?
Marketing Assistant
It was a pretty chill interview process. I had three interviews in total. First, I talked with the manager. Then I met with a marketing assistant. We actually went out for coffee and discussed the job in more detail. I kind of wish they'd been clearer that the role involved door-to-door sales with a path to management. But overall, it felt pretty relaxed since we weren't stuck in an office and got to know each other. The final interview was with the manager, and they got back to me really fast, the same day.
- What qualitative skills do you bring to the program?
