First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fountain.
Technical Support Engineer
First I talked to the hiring manager, which went great. Then, the manager who is hiring for the role, also really good, very personable. Next, I had a chat with the team lead for the hiring team, we had a good discussion and exchange. Lastly, I interviewed with the VP of Services, a really positive and productive conversation. Everyone was very down-to-earth and honest about the job and its challenges. Sadly, no offer because my support manager experience was a bit concerning for them in a non-management role. I get why they think that, but I disagree, I think I can help the team lead and team to be more structured.
- What have you accomplished, and how do you handle stressful situations?
Customer Success Manager
An external recruiter reached out about the CSM role. I went through 9 interviews, which seemed strange, but they said they wanted me to meet the whole team. Then the hiring manager contacted me for a 10th interview with the new UK Team Lead/hiring manager. They didn't attach Zoom links and the hiring manager had trouble setting one up, which was unprofessional. After talking to the new hiring manager, they got back to me in 5 days saying no offer. This all happened after I had to provide 4 references from my current job, which put me at risk. It was a terrible and inhumane experience!
- Can you tell me how many accounts you are currently managing?
Product Marketing Manager
The first round was a video interview with the hiring manager. It was really conversational and transparent. The second round was a phone screen with HR, which was a bit out of order but understandable for a company where everyone wears many hats. This call was more of a benefits and culture overview, very by-the-book. They even used the 'we're like a family' line, which was a bit much. The last round involved two back-to-back 45-minute video interviews with peers. The first peer interview was uninspired, with the interviewer yawning, which was quite strange. The second peer interview was much better, with clear expectations and an outline of the interview. The interviewer was engaging and excited about the work. I was told I'd get feedback within a day or two, but never heard back. It's been a month.
- If you were a bike, what part would you be and explain your reasoning.
User Researcher
Standard UX researcher interview process: first a recruiter phone screen, then an interview with the hiring manager, followed by another chat with a product team member. The last step was a research case study presentation to the hiring panel. The recruiter was great, really professional and kept me in the loop. They also sent over clear instructions before the final interview, including who would be on the hiring committee, which was super helpful. Overall, a really good experience interviewing with the product team at Fountain!
- What research methods do you know well?
- Describe your process for handling a research request.
