First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Foundation Communities.
IT Manager
The interview started with a phone screening. They asked why I was looking to leave my current job and explained Foundation's mission of affordable housing. If they liked me, the next step was an onsite interview at their HQ. The interview was with their lead HR person, who was very knowledgeable about technology even without formal training. We discussed their MSP for help desk support, their different facilities, and the need for someone to take ownership of tech projects and infrastructure. I didn't get an offer, but I was impressed with the people and recommended another candidate.
- Are you familiar with legacy PBX systems?
- Do you have knowledge of hybrid cloud architecture?
Program and Operations Manager
I had a phone interview, then a virtual interview with the operations director, and program managers from different departments. An employee that the position would be overseeing was also part of the interview.
- How did you manage working with directors across programs?
Intern
It was a talk with the Assistant Director to see how I would fit in with the office and what work I could do. It was very informal. We sat down in their meeting place and talked about my life in college and what I wanted to do after graduation. Then we talked about her life a little bit as well.
- Where do you see yourself in the future?
Program Assistant
I emailed my resume and cover letter. The Learning Center Coordinator called me for an in-person interview, which happened about a week later. It lasted about 30 minutes. The Coordinator toured me around the Learning Center and told me what a typical day would be like. I got a job offer call about a week after that.
- What makes you want to work with children in the K-5th grade range?
