I’m getting ready for Architectural Designer interviews in January 2026. Based on what I've found, the usual process is: 1) an initial HR chat (about 15 min), 2) a session to review my portfolio with a PM (around 30 min), 3) a technical part where I'll do a Revit test or a sketch (taking 30–60 min), and 4) a final meeting with the principal. I'll share more details after my first interview.

The interview process was conducted online and felt quite flexible. The interviewers were pleasant to interact with, and the work itself sounded engaging. I ultimately declined the position due to the compensation being significantly lower than expected, and also based on general knowledge of the field suggesting potential for extensive overtime. I have since accepted a role outside of architecture that offers nearly double the salary and compensates for overtime at a 1:1 rate.
