First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Foster.
Legal Assistant
I got connected with this opportunity through CareerStage, which is a free recruiting service for recent grads and those up to 5 years out of college. I had two interviews before getting hired. The first was with FosterQuan's HR person, and the second was with the attorney I'd be working for. Both interviews were really short, under 10 minutes, and pretty relaxed. The HR person was nice and asked standard questions like how I fit the role, my strengths, if I was fine with overtime, and my experience. The attorney's interview was for them to meet me and ask similar questions. The attorney also asked me to go home and write a one-page paper on a topic that had the biggest impact on my life. I heard back the next day that I got the job.

Case Coordinator
Foster Quan is a well-known firm, so they get a lot of applications. You'll interview with the head lawyer of the department you're applying for, and maybe other lawyers too. My interview was three hours long because I ended up talking to about 5 attorneys. The culture seems friendly and collaborative, a good place to learn. Not sure about promotions since they have experienced lawyers and it's competitive. They avoid hiring people with JD degrees for non-lawyer roles so you don't expect to become an attorney there later.
- Can you share details about your previous internship or job experiences, particularly concerning billing practices?
- Would you be uncomfortable working with colleagues who have different qualifications or levels of experience than you?
- Do you sometimes feel you are superior to others due to your credentials or experience?
Executive Assistant
They were unsure where to conduct my interview and ended up taking me all over the building. They also didn't contact me to inform me that they had filled the position while I was waiting for the offer.
- Did you think you would enjoy working here?
Law Clerk
It was a two-step interview process that took about three weeks to complete. I didn't hear back for a bit, but I did get an offer in the end. Overall, it was a good experience and I accepted the offer.
- Can you tell me about your work availability?
