Behavioral Presentation

The interview process had three rounds. First I talked with Peers, then the Hiring Manager, and finally a Skip-level with the VP. The conversation was conversational and focused on how my experiences translated to impact and how they aligned with the Fortive Business System.

I applied online and a recruiter also reached out around the same time. The recruiter wanted to schedule a call and asked for my availability. I mentioned I was available most of Monday or Tuesday. They then sent an invite for Thursday at 4:30p. While not ideal, I could manage it. At 4:21p on Thursday, the recruiter rescheduled the call for 5p without any prior communication, only notifying me via a Teams meeting time change. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the 5p time work, so I emailed the recruiter to inform them. They apologized and suggested rescheduling for Friday or Monday. I responded with my availability on Friday. I haven't heard back from the recruiter since. I'm uncertain if the recruiter was in-house or third-party. This experience was very unprofessional and reflects poorly on the company. I hope they resolve this for future interviews.

So I started with a recruiter call which went super well, they were really nice and gave me a lot of good info. After that, I was supposed to have an interview with the hiring manager. But, like, an hour before it was supposed to happen, they cancelled and wanted to reschedule for the next day. When they finally got back to me, a whole day later, they told me they had already hired someone else before my interview even happened. Super frustrating and felt like they didn't respect my time at all.

Behavioral Technical Case

I interviewed with the Fort team for a position and went through four rounds in three days. The scheduling was really messed up, with rounds often set right before or even during the previous one, making it feel rushed and disorganized. I had no idea what to expect in any round and just had to jump in, which was stressful. It felt like they weren't clear about what they were looking for. The worst part was after the interviews; I tried following up with the recruiter and even the Hiring Manager multiple times but never heard back. No feedback, no status update, nothing. It felt like a complete waste of my time. The lack of communication and transparency was disappointing and unprofessional.
