The interview process was really smooth. The interviewer was super professional. We had to reschedule last minute because of some technical issues, but they were flexible and we were able to set it up again.

Behavioral Presentation

I got an email from someone at the college asking to meet after they saw my resume. We set up a meeting for later that week. When I got there, I met with a panel of people. After that, we did a campus tour. It was about 1.5 hours total. They said they had more interviews to do and I'd hear back in a week. A week later, someone who wasn't on the panel called me and wanted to meet. We met later that week, and I thought I'd get the job on the spot because it went so well. Then, I had my background check done and was told where to go for a drug test. They told me again it would be a week before I heard anything. After a week, I emailed to see if they needed anything else and also completed an online assessment. I waited to hear their decision but got no response. I called and left a message, still no response. I emailed my contact, assuming they went with other people, but they replied saying they were swamped and hadn't made a decision but would by the end of the week. I still haven't heard from them.

Behavioral Technical

I applied for the Admissions Advisor job at Fortis and got a call right away from the Regional Director of Admissions who was at a local college. The job wanted a Bachelor's degree but I told him I didn't have one and he said my experience was good enough and set up an in-person interview for the next morning. I got there a bit early, but the office was locked. After waiting, an instructor let me in. The receptionist then asked why I was there. The Campus President came out, confirmed why I was there, and then went back in. About 10 minutes after my scheduled time, the CP came back and said the person I was supposed to meet wasn't there but he would talk to me. He also said experience was more important than education, but kept calling me 'uneducated' throughout our chat. After about 15 minutes, he ended the interview saying he had a meeting and that the Director of Admissions would call to set up another meeting. I never heard from the DOA, so I emailed the CP about it. He said the DOA had a different plan and I wouldn't get another interview. I felt like they never intended to seriously consider me and my trip there was a waste of time and gas. It was handled very unprofessionally.

Group Case

About 2 days after applying, I was contacted for a group interview. They didn't tell me or the other 4 people that it would be a group interview, and then they let everyone mingle while we figured out it was going to be a group interview. One employee was even chatting with her friend before the interview and then proceeded to sit in during the interview, smiling at her friend's replies and no one else's. The director of admissions first gave an unorganized one hour presentation on the company, and then gave us 30 minutes to answer his questions, all going in a circle. Then at the end, he was vague about the timeline and replied that a sales test would be emailed to us and that it would answer all of his questions (he didn't even take notes during the interview, which I found strange considering there were 5 of us). Oh, and the employee who sat in refused to shake my hand at the end, she just started talking to her friend! The director's secretary also popped in unannounced right in the middle of another candidate's response, cutting her off completely. Overall, I thought it was extremely unprofessional and the whole sales test decides where people stand so the group interview is just for them to tell candidates about themselves. Very aggressive sales tactics also, might as well pursue telemarketing.
