Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fortinet.
Business Development Representative
The interview process was great. First, there was a recruiter screen call that lasted about 15 minutes. Then, I interviewed with 2 BDR managers where I was asked more in-depth sales-related and 'why Fortinet' questions. The final round was with the Director, which was a very chill and fun experience.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in Fortinet?
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in sales?
- Describe your approach to handling rejection.
Business Development Representative
The interview process was quick and efficient, with minimal feedback. The interview wasn't structured and was very personality-based. You need to know Fortinet products: FortiGate (flagship firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention), FortiAnalyzer (centralized logging/reporting), FortiManager (centralized management), FortiWeb (web application firewall), FortiMail (email security), FortiSandbox (advanced threat detection), FortiClient (endpoint security), and FortiToken (two-factor authentication). It's important to understand these products, their features, and how they work together for business security. You might also be asked about competitors, industry trends, and how Fortinet stacks up.
- Can you define phishing and discuss related cybersecurity concepts?
- Can you describe FortiGate's main functions?
- What is FortiAnalyzer used for?
Business Development Representative
The hiring process was super professional and organized. They kept me in the loop at every step, and the interviewers knew their stuff, my background, and what the role needed. I felt treated well and supported the whole way. The interviews were interesting, on point, and felt really human, showing off the company's great culture and focus on doing things right. Honestly, it was a great experience being interviewed there. A small idea: maybe more detailed feedback at the end, or showing real project examples for the job, could make a great thing even better.
- Describe a challenge you encountered in a previous work setting.
