Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Form Energy.
Software Engineer
Had a good initial chat with the recruiter. The technical interviews felt relevant to the job and were conducted fairly. I felt kept in the loop and got a good sense of the company and what the job entails.
- Can you explain OOP concepts with examples and talk about best practices for it?
Senior Software Engineer
Had two phone screens, each about 30-45 minutes. First was with a recruiter, then a follow-up with the hiring manager. Both went really well, and they said good things about my background. They told me I'd hear back in a few weeks after the second interview. I emailed them at the two-week mark and then just... nothing. I even reached out to the recruitment manager on LinkedIn, but no reply. I was always polite and patient, and got no response. The interviews themselves were super positive! If I didn't make the cut or lacked a key skill, I wish they'd just say so. I'd avoid applying here given how they treat people, seems like a common issue. Just confirming if I was a finalist would have been enough, but it looks like they can't even offer that if you're not exactly what they need.
- What are the top three qualities or values you look for in a company or a future role?
Senior Staff Software Engineer
It started with a recruiter reaching out and then I had two 45-minute phone chats with the hiring managers. After that, there was a half-day remote formal interview that included a technical presentation and one-on-one or two-on-one chats with team members. It ended with a follow-up and an offer. The candidate experience could be better and take less time, but the team and the company's mission are great.
- Were there any technical questions asked based on the job description?
