For the Store Manager role, they usually assess your retail management experience, customer service skills, leadership abilities, and how you handle day-to-day operations, sales targets, and staff development. The interviews for a District Manager position often focus on your leadership skills, ability to manage multiple stores, strategic thinking, and experience in overseeing operations and driving sales. Expect questions about team management, problem-solving, and your approach to meeting targets. For the Regional Director role, the emphasis might shift towards your ability to oversee a larger region, set and execute strategies for multiple districts, drive profitability, and ensure consistency across various locations. Questions might revolve around your vision for growth, managing diverse teams, and handling regional challenges. Each interview level will likely delve deeper into your experience, leadership style, problem-solving abilities, and alignment with the company's values and goals. Showing a strong understanding of the business, adaptability, and a vision for growth could make a significant impact in these interviews.

I used to work for Forever 21 and applied in-store. The next day, I called the manager, and she called back a couple of hours later to schedule an interview. I had the first interview and I'm not entirely sure how it went. She asked me four questions, and then asked if I had any questions for her. I asked if she had business cards and about the timeline for the hiring process and hearing back. She said it would take about two weeks because she needed to interview other applicants to decide who would be the best fit. She also mentioned it wasn't necessary to call about the status of my application. I don't feel great about that response because I thought most people get a second interview on the spot, and I didn't. The fact that she's interviewing others also makes me a bit worried that I didn't perform well in the interview. I really want this job, so I'll wait patiently to see if I get a second interview.

The interview process was really disorganized. What was supposed to be a job fair felt more like a cattle call. I was expecting a one-on-one interview for store management at 9am, but nobody from F21 showed up until 10:15am. Then I had to wait in line with everyone else for a 7-minute screening interview. After that, I was called for another interview at a store two hours away, where I was supposed to meet the District Manager. Instead, I met with a store manager who was assisting him. This interview lasted about 15 minutes. I received an offer five days later, even though they initially said I'd hear back in two days. Overall, it was a highly unsatisfactory and very disorganized experience.
