I saw the job on Indeed and sent my resume. The store manager called the same day to set up an interview for Monday. It was a one-on-one, pretty chill interview where we mostly talked about my past experience and what I'm looking for from the company. Right after, she let me know I was the last person interviewing and that she'd be calling two candidates back for a second interview with the district manager. About two hours later, she called me back for that second interview. The next day, I chatted with the DM over the phone about my work and management approaches, and my long-term career goals. She mentioned the final decision was up to the store manager and she'd be in touch with whoever got picked by the end of the week. The next two days were spent waiting and overthinking. Today, Friday, the store manager called to offer me the job! I went in to do the paperwork and I'll be starting as the new assistant manager soon. The whole interview process took about a week.

I sent in an application and then was put on hold for an interview. There were four interviewers, the district manager, the store manager, and two others I didn't get to meet. When it was my turn to interview, I first met with the district manager. She saw on my application that I was applying for the assistant manager position and told me to wait for the store manager to interview me. I waited about 5 minutes and then had my interview with the store manager, which lasted about 5-8 minutes. She explained the job, asked me some questions, told me the salary, asked me if I had any questions and let me know that if I got the position, I'd hear back within 2 weeks.

After not hearing back from online applications, I dropped off my resume at the store. The co-manager called me in 4 days for an interview on Monday, which went well. I was then asked back for a second 1:1 interview with the store manager. This second interview also went great, but the manager mentioned my salary expectations were higher than the assistant manager bracket ($14-18/hr). I stated I'd still like to be considered. However, despite the manager saying they would contact me the following week, I never heard back. It's frustrating when managers aren't more professional or considerate.
