Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Forever 21.
Designer
I was contacted by a recruiter, which initially seemed like a scam because she didn't introduce herself or state the job title, and her email had many typos. After some back-and-forth, we scheduled an interview. The interview consisted of basic questions, and the recruiter praised my qualifications while promising to follow up. I sent one follow-up email, and she replied, misspelling my name, and again said she'd get back soon. I never heard back.
- Can you tell me about your skills and experience?
Senior Designer
The interview process took over 6 months and included 2 unpaid design projects. Even though I successfully completed the final stages, management decided against hiring me because I didn't know anyone at the company (no referral).
- Can you describe the concept for the line?
Assistant Designer
I talked to the recruiter on the phone, mostly about basic stuff and if I could move. I asked about sponsorship, and she said she'd check and let me know via email, but I never heard back and didn't move on.
- What's your take on Forever 21's style?
